PmWiki is a WIki system written in PHP issued in GPL and without installation and a SQL DB to run.
It seems to be a good alternatinve to Wakka. In fact, It also seems to be broken easily...I donno how to explain this (it just give me such a feeling.) and so pls install PmWiki yourself to see what do you feel.
OK, I did install pmWiki and it is quite nice. Works just fine. As with any 'scripting software' it can be broken if you go mucking around with the srcipt and don't really understand the underlying software application. SO my advice would be to install and run. Leave the source alone. Script software is like that.
However, it also has its goodies: I do like the way PmWiki shows the hierarchical structure of pages. For example, it groups all the SubPages? of a page by leading the main page first. i.e. all the SubPages? appear under the main page but not with (beside) the main page like this:
In PmWiki:
MainPage
...(/SubPage)?1
...(/SubPage)?2
.../Subpage3
In Tavi:
MainPage/SubPage1
MainPage/SubPage2
MainPage/Subpage3
I think/feel such a presentation in PageIndex? is helpful to VisualGuys? to see what's happen. Don't you think it?
