PhpWiki seems to be mature. Using both, does anyone have any opinions? If so, let us know what's the good and bad about each of them.

I've been using PhpWiki on one of my sites for over a year now (currently v.1.3.10); I'm less than satisfied with the security and registration set-up, which I have yet to get to work correctly. The version I was using before (either 1.3.8 or 3.9) got Slurped and stopped working; I never could figure out why, so I banned search robots completely. Installation of 1.3.10 was a bit tricky, since there were missing image files in the theme I wanted to use (Mac OS X) and some of the file names contained spaces, which the host server I use forbids; I had to create my own versions of the missing (button) files and edit the filenames and code to play nice with my server.

I also use PhpBB?2, XOOPS and Moodle on my sites, so I know there is PHP code out there for handling user registration and other administrative tasks; the XOOPS installer is, in addition, a joy to behold in action. So I don't understand what the problem is with the PhpWiki team. And that's my rant for the day.

I guess to be balanced I should note this: PhpWiki includes a brief synopsis of its editing conventions below the edit window, something I notice is lacking here. 'Tavi seems to be fairly lean and mean, so I'm going to download and do some further testing on my own site. (RonCraig)
