Someone may type something in a hurry and later he thinks the title/name of the page is wrong and so he wants to change it, but Tavi won't let him do that.( The reason why I think PageRenaming is great: Maybe I write a WikiPages in Chinese and so there is less chance that let Tavi generates the Title of a page and therefore I usually create a page by typing its Title in the URL box of a browser.)
Another reason: Meatball:PageNameSuggestions?
Pros:
- Maintenance of a page's name to reflect what it contains up to date when the page grow
Cons:
- If the page which was renamed is not generated manually, but by a WikiName in a paragraph, there is a chance of losing the link. (UseMod and PhpWiki can maintain the link after renaming a page In UseMod, run "Maintenance" to update the renamed link manually; in PhpWiki, it seems to be a plugin. However, the content of any page which links to the renamed page can be affected, because the renamed link may be part of the content on the linking pages.)
Resourcese:
- UseMod:AdminFeatures? has a demo site to pratice this.
- UseMod:PageNameTutorial? says how does it implement in UseMod.
- PhpWiki:PageRename? and PhpWiki:PageRename? talks about this, though *PhpWiki:PageAlias? seems not not to be a good idea
- [Kwiki] has done a good job on this: user can rename the page, which is being editing, when he is editing.
